Let’s chat about Harry.

Tragically in Sept 2020 Harry was taken from us in a freak accident, ironically it happened while he was tagging stud lambs, a time Harry looked forward to with excitement as the results of the years planning and mating efforts start bearing fruit.

Harry was just hitting his straps having been back at Te Whangai for seven years, with Kate, and been totally in control of the business since 2017.

Harry had the passion and commitment required to drive the Te Whangai business to the next level, he was meticulous in his planning, modern in his thinking and determined to develop the infrastructure of the farm to be top class and something to be proud of. He also had high environmental values and planned to preserve and enhance the landscape at Te Whangai.

Despite his laid back nature and modesty Harry was a techno whizz, he was the go to man for all recording, scales, wand or app questions and was so looking forward to eliminating all the points in the stud recording process where errors could occur.

We now have the hugest motivation, in Kate, Archie and Patch, to fulfill Harry's goals and farming aspirations.  Harry felt a big sense of responsibility to maintain the momentum achieved in the production of resilient sheep that can genuinely make a difference to other sheep farmers businesses.
